EPROM
Loads and reads original EPROM .bin files while emulating the filters and sonic behavior of machines like the Linn 9000, LM-1 and Oberheim DMX/DX.
SYNTH
A modular drum synth engine with models inspired by classic units like the Simmons SDS, ClapTrap and Roland TR-808. Every voice is modeled and shaped individually.
ROMPLER
Captures the punch, texture and digital character of late-'80s and early-'90s ROMpler machines like the Roland R-8 and Yamaha RY30.
MODERN
A clean, linear sample engine. What you put in is exactly what you get out.

Chop, edit & export
Built-in sample chopping lets you edit samples, create crossfades and build your own kits. Anything you chop or design across the four engines can be converted to .wav or .bin EPROM. Right-click or drag it straight from the green visual window to your computer, your DAW or knightdrum.com, or load it back onto vintage hardware.
Sequence, live or step
The built-in sequencer records notes, hi-hat decay and pitch in real time, or lets you dial them in with step input: note repeats, pitch shifts, decay and timing changes. When the take feels right, drag the MIDI straight into your DAW.
Humanizer & feel
A Humanizer engine randomizes velocity, pitch and timing per drum voice, while the optional Feel Emulation mode recreates the groove and timing of different vintage machines.
Creative per voice & master FX
Built-in effects on every voice: flanger, phaser, stereo widener, transient shaper, EQ, reverb and delay. On the master bus, room emulation, reverb, delay and lo-fi controls let you downsample, bit-crush and add noise, wow and flutter across the entire machine.
Savable kits & community
Every engine, FX and sequence saves with the kit. Grooves, patterns and kits can be dragged in and out of Knight Drum and shared through knightdrum.com, so you can explore new sounds and discover ideas from the community.
